The sixth annual PSE Freshman Retreat was held on Friday and Saturday, September 18-19. Twelve new freshmen were treated to dinner and professional development activities on Friday evening. Materials included techniques for resume writing and interviews, as well as an introduction to the kraft pulping process.
On Saturday, the group traveled to the Domtar mill in Plymouth, NC for tours of the woodyard, pulp mill, bleach plant, and the paper machines.
This event has become an important part of bonding students to the program and industry. Many thanks to Steve Lawson and Domtar mill management for their kindness in hosting our students on a Saturday.
