Alumni Updates

Brian Jones (B.S. PPT 2000) is currently Reforming Process Supervisor at the
ExxonMobil Refinery in Beaumont, Texas. His wife, Jamie (Bushnell) Jones
(B.S. PSE 2004), is the Business Analyst at the ExxonMobil Beaumont Chemical
Plant. They welcomed a baby girl, Avery, to their family in December 2007!

David Abrecht (B.S. PSE/CHE 2007) is a graduate student in the chemical engineering Ph.D. program at Caltech. He is the newest member of the Giapis research group, which specializes in plasma-based materials processing, ionic interactions with surfaces, and nanoscale materials manufacture and characterization.
Ray Uptegrove (B.S. PPT 1963) retired at the end of 2003, after 40.5 years with MeadWestvaco in Charleston, S.C.

Stephen Bidwell (B.S. PPT 1993) just completed a school year teaching Algebra I and Pre-Algebra to 7th graders at Kelly Mill Middle School. Elise Todd (B.S. PPT 1993), now Elise Bidwell, is a Financial Advisor for Edward Jones. They live in Columbia, SC and have two boys.

Jeff Reese (B.S. PPT/CHE 1985) is an Engineering Fellow for International Paper in Loveland, OH, focusing on reducing paper machine energy consumption. He is married and has three children aged 5, 10, and 15.

Gene Foster (B.S. PPT 1997) is the West Region Service Operations Process Leader for Honeywell Building Solutions. He lives in Smithfield, NC with his wife and son Graham.

Jason Harman (B.S. PSE 2007) is Technical Sales Representative for Hercules Inc. and lives in Wilmington, NC.

Kevin Lowe (B.S. PPT 2003) is now the Superintendent on the #1 Paper Machine at the International Paper mill in Georgetown, SC.

Eliot Malak (B.S. PPT/CHE 1996) is now the Superintendent on the #1 and #2 Paper Machines at the International Paper mill in Georgetown, SC.
